A Delvers to Grow Contest on the DFRPG Facebook Group

John Morrison has announced the first contest hosted by the Dungeon Fantasy RPG facebook group, in collaboration with (and with the full support of) Gaming Ballistic.

Read the full announcement here.

Rules

Submit three versions of the same character concept at 62 (Novice), 125 (Journeyman), and 187 (Master) character points. If you own Delvers to Grow you should use those book Templates (Strong Delvers, Fast Delvers, & Smart Delvers), or use the DFRPG Adventures and Exploitsif you don’t have access to them using the guidelines of -50 Disadvantages and 50 (Novice), 60 (Journeyman), and 90 (Master) points in advantages.

Each entry should include four pages. a background of the character, ways to use the character, and a list of books used to make the character (this doesn’t have to be a full page if you don’t want to), the next three pages should be of each the 62 (Novice), 125 (Journeyman), and 187 (Master) character sheet.

A few personal notes:

It’s mentioned in the announcement, but there’s much more to Norðlond setting than the Viking-inspired main realm in which I’ve published material to date. You can see a few of the details in the Dragon Heresy core book, but since “Totally Not Ancient Egypt” is hinted at as a home for the cat-folk from Nordlondr Folk, there’s at least that. There’s more, too:

If there’s room for these lands, there’s room for more. Etera is a big world, after all.

Also, plenty of folks want to do nonhuman characters. So a few notes:

  • Remember canonically, disadvantages gained as part of a racial package do not count against the disad limit.
  • Some packages and point totals are hard. An expensive race with a 62-point budget? Might not be doable.

Beyond that, I encourage you to drop by the facebook page, interact with John, and make some characters.
