Nordlond Bestiary: A Sample
I’ve been working on multiple fronts on the Dungeon Fantasy RPG Nordlond Bestiary (formal title: Norðlondr Óvinabókin, or the Norðlond Enemies Book).
Here is an example of the layout, graphic design, and art as it stands. Well, one monster’s worth. It’s not necessarily the final version, but I like it as a trend.
The silhouette is of Alva, a hireling barbarian NPC from Delvers to Grow: Core. She’s 5’9″ (175cm) tall and will be present on each creature that needs scaling. Juan Ochoa did both pieces, in this case, but my art team is much larger than just him. Several familiar faces, and a new player as well.
My Patreon subscribers will be taking the Fjallatroll and others out for test drives, trial combats, and generally helping out.
This is hopefully going to be a Big Book of Monsters, with enough tie to the setting to fit, and enough flexibility to be easily ported to other games. I always hope this goes well, but I really hope that we can unlock enough stretch goal content to push this to up to 240 pages. If you are interested, please follow the upcoming Kickstarter campaign here. If things go well, it should launch next week.
“the entrance to their faerie homes” should use “entrances […] homes” or “troll’s faerie homes are entered via rock outcrops,”
