Production Update . . . and what’s coming soon for TFT

Mixam UK

We have provided about three-dozen photos of the damaged goods to MixamUK. Presumably, they’ll see them in a few hours and hopefully get the reprints going quickly. These books usually only take a few days to actually print…but getting them in queue is likely the lag bit. While it’s physically possible to get the books to Kixto this week, I’d really look for things to get moving next week.

Mixam USA

I have been waiting on The Sunken Library. I pinged them two days ago, and they said they’d actually run out of the cardstock they use for cover paper. Should get this going tomorrow. It’s not very many books, so hopefully both the 350-book order for The Sunken Library and the 100-book order for Dark Lord’s Doom with the right ISBN/Bar Code on it will get printed tomorrow. Much like the UK order, it can take as little as 36 hours to get here via UPS (usually) from the printing location in Wisconsin. If they get here on Friday (pleasepleaseplease) I’ll start the packing party and do my best to get all of the domestic orders in the mail early next week.

Character Collections

I have made very good progress on moving the Character Collection project into the queue. I’m still trying to figure out the most convenient and attractive way to offer up the various books for the campaign, which I’m eyeing for the third week in February.

The following sample spread shows how the books will improved over Character Collection 1:

This is sample art as placeholders from More Perilous Journeys; each piece will be unique to the character on the page.

Bandits and Outlaws is technically Character Collection 3; I did that one first because it was longer (20 pages). I’m in the middle of doing the work on Character Collection 2: Rookies.

Each book shall feature

  • Dedicated bespoke art for each character
  • Deck of Destiny style cards; a deck for each book
  • Chipboard counters for each book; some books require two sheets
  • Hardcopy and PDF available for the books

I am also working up card decks and counters for More Perilous Journeys. The card supply chain looks very, very strong. I am still somewhat concerned about the counters, but I know I can make it work. I shall make reprints of the Five Perilous Journeys cards available; the counters may be converted to greyscale to match the rest of the set.

I’m really excited about this particular offering, and I hope you will be too.
